The Kovalli Desert is an uncrossable wasteland believed to stretch to the edge of the world.
It lies beyond the mountains that formed the western boundary of ancient Quendor.
The Kovalli people had developed insect-extermination spells which they kept secrets. During King Syovar's attempts to unify Frobozz, the Treaty of Quendor would enable cooperation between Antharia and Kovalli; Antharia, who suffered by locust plagues, could irrigate the deserts in exchange for their spells.
